About The Position

As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will join a new Digital Transformation group within Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Solutions and help advance modern digital engineering methods across the organization. Using Requirements Based Engineering (RBE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), you will support the specification development, design, modeling, and integration of aircraft systems. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to define and mature digital transformation standards, processes, and best practices, and partner with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to support consistent adoption. This hands-on technical role provides guidance to engineering teams as they integrate RBE, MBSE, and digital engineering practices into development processes, with a focus on rapid, traceable, and scalable system development. You will collaborate with system leads, hardware, and test teams to capture system architecture, decompose requirements, and validate system behavior through modeling. As part of the newly formed group, you will help shape how these practices are applied and scaled across Electronic Solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in systems engineering and MBSE roles.
  • Hands-on experience with CAMEO Systems Modeler.
  • Strong understanding of SysML.
  • Working knowledge of requirements tools such as DOORS NG and Jira.
  • Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or a person with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience modeling complex system architectures and interfaces.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes, the V-model, and lifecycle traceability.
  • Understanding of modular open systems architecture (MOSA) principles.
  • Familiarity with ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-881, MIL-STD-882, and system safety frameworks.
  • Exposure to airworthiness certification or flight test support.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define, document, and mature standards, processes, methods, and best practices for RBE, MBSE, and related digital engineering disciplines.
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence to help engineering teams adopt and consistently apply digital transformation processes, standards, and tools in product development environments.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance in SysML, CAMEO, requirements management, system modeling, architecture development, requirements decomposition, and traceability.
  • Help engineering teams translate common digital engineering standards into practical approaches suited to their programs.
  • Support integration of digital engineering practices into existing development lifecycles, including requirements, architecture, design, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Identify adoption challenges and work with stakeholders to develop scalable solutions.
  • Promote effective use and integration of tools such as CAMEO, DOORS NG, Jira, and related engineering platforms to improve information flow, traceability, model consistency, and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, test, safety, and other engineering disciplines to establish and implement common digital engineering approaches.
  • Evaluate engineering workflows and identify opportunities to improve consistency, traceability, automation, and reuse.
  • Evolve digital transformation practices based on lessons learned from CoE and program adoption.
  • Collaborate with system leads, hardware, and test teams to capture system architecture, decompose requirements, and validate system behavior through modeling.
