About The Position

To support OCPS teachers, coaches and administrators through professional development and support that builds capacity in assessment literacy, assessment administration, test-development best practices and the proper and effective use of data to increase student achievement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of teacher-leadership, administrative or management experience including work in test development, administration and/or the analysis of assessment results.
  • Experience leading large groups of educators in professional development sessions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of assessment creation, test administration, psychometric analysis, and reporting strategies.
  • Demonstrated skill in creating high-quality educational assessments.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and effectively present assessment results to groups such as administrators, teachers, support staff, parents and/or members of the community.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing projects, including the development of project plans, implementing organizational systems, and using tracking tools.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing professional goals and objectives aligned with district goals.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading others in creating interactive and engaging professional development in multiple formats.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of assessment applications (e.g., Performance Matters).
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to present information about projects to large groups of people in a variety of roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in priorities and work assignments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders to create interactive online and in-person learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of creating attendance tracking systems for all course types.
  • Demonstrated ability to create surveys to evaluate course effectiveness and to take action to improve courses based on feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in the management of large and complex projects including working with others in a collaborative manner to establish goals and objectives, develop action plans, conduct data analysis, meet critical deadlines and share results preferred.
  • Experience developing professional development; interactive online courses and/or videos for teachers, school administrators and district leaders preferred.
  • Some knowledge of statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.
  • Respond to internal and external stakeholders in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
  • Models the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization, and management tasks.
  • Establish clear and measurable goals for all relevant areas of responsibility
  • Communicate and collaborate with key departments and stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop any staff (which may include senior manager(s) and/or program specialist(s))
  • Lead or support the creation and facilitation of ongoing district-wide professional development in the areas of test development, test administration, assessment literacy, and data use.
  • Manage or support the process of developing, revising, and publishing of Common Final Exam outlines and tests, as well as Progress Monitoring Activities.
  • Use psychometric data to evaluate and revise assessments.
  • Manage or support a system to create, edit, administer, score, archive, and update assessments as needed for district goals.
  • Provide support and expertise as requested by schools and learning communities regarding test development, test administration, assessment literacy, or data use.
  • Lead the training of district and school-based staff on district-approved assessment administration and development systems.
  • Facilitate the creation of high-quality education assessments.
  • Evaluate staff in terms of their performance responsibilities and provide job-embedded professional development that is directly related to the growth of their leadership skills and their performance responsibilities.
  • Oversee or support an innovative professional development plan.
  • Assist with organizing, creating, and facilitating online and/or in-person test-development sessions.
  • Update project online pages.
  • Create professional development for district departments, area offices, and schools with using assessment data, reports, and systems to increase student achievement.
  • Keep supervisors and other key people informed about critical issues and incidents about which they should be aware.
  • Ensure that updated documentation is produced and available for all processes directly related to areas of responsibility as identified by the supervisor(s).
  • Keep up to date on current technology being used by OCPS.
  • With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Maintain timely and accurate information and accept accountability for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Provide job-embedded professional development through sharing information and providing expertise regarding current trends and best practices.
  • Keep up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
