About The Position

This position provides leadership and oversight for accounting, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and business operations within RHS. This role serves as a key financial liaison ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, university policy, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • 5-8 years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in accounting
  • advanced knowledge of GAAP, GASB standards, FASB standards, financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, financial analysis, and staff supervision
  • experience in a supervisory role
  • experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software and/or desktop publishing, web page software
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee portions of the accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end and year-end close processes; interpret and apply GASB standards within the University environment while maintaining a strong understanding of GAAP and FASB principles to support business operations, financial analysis, and reporting/certifications as needed; review reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements; support internal and external audits.
  • Supervise professional staff, conduct evaluations, coach employees, and support succession planning and cross-training.
  • Lead internal control development, risk assessments, compliance monitoring, policy development, and corrective action planning.
  • Lead process improvement efforts, workflow redesign, financial systems initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
  • Serve as Fiscal Officer, monitor budgets and financial performance, and advise leadership on resource allocation and financial impacts.
  • Serves as a liaison to divisional and operational committees for business and financial consultation and integration.
