About The Position
Oscar is hiring a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join its Actuarial team. The role supports pricing processes for several Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets by preparing models and experience studies that support pricing and company strategies. The position reports to the Director, Actuarial. It is fully remote and open to candidates residing in Dallas, Texas, though Oscar notes its work approach may change over time and future models could involve hybrid presence at the metro-area hub office.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or on track to become one.
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Review core pricing and plan design models, understand the main reasons for performance, and provide actuarial insights to inform strategic pricing considerations.
- Contribute to reviewing regulatory filings and developing viewpoints and recommendations for strategic pricing decisions.
- Investigate core drivers of observed trends and provide information to support pricing decisions.
- Promote and shape actuarial best practices concerning automation and documentation.
- Maintain relationships, rapport, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Aid in onboarding analysts by collaborating and integrating them into existing processes.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
