About The Position

Oscar is hiring a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join its Actuarial team. The role supports pricing processes for several Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets by preparing models and experience studies that support pricing and company strategies. The position reports to the Director, Actuarial. This is a fully remote position open to candidates residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Oscar notes that its approach to work may adapt over time and that future models could potentially involve a hybrid presence at the hub office associated with the candidate’s metro area. The base pay is $91,660–$120,303 per year. The role is also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or on track to become one.
At least 3 years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

Review core pricing and plan design models, understand the main reasons for performance, and provide actuarial insights to inform strategic pricing considerations.
Contribute significantly to reviewing regulatory filings and developing viewpoints and recommendations for strategic pricing decisions.
Investigate the core drivers of observed trends and provide meaningful information to support pricing decisions.
Promote and shape Oscar actuarial best practices concerning automation and documentation.
Maintain strong relationships, rapport, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Help onboard analysts by collaborating with them and integrating them into existing processes.
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
