About The Position

The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will continue to fulfill the core responsibilities of the AP Specialist role. In addition, this position will assist the AP Lead in auditing AP reports to ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies, manage communications with vendors, and serve as a point of liaison between the accounting department and other operational teams. The principal functions of the position identified shall not be considered as a complete description of all the work requirements and expectations that may be inherent in the position. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 6+ experience in accounts payable
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to conduct extensive research and reconciliations
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and stakeholders
  • Have an aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word and intermediate skills in Excel
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; Experience with Coupa or similar apps is a bonus
  • Manual processing experience/high-volume
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure and be comfortable in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide reporting for weekly payables run
  • Oversee communication and troubleshooting efforts with department managers
  • Process various accounts-payable transactions
  • Support AP Lead as Procurement liaison
  • Primary point of contact for all inquiries coming from the accounting department
  • Assist the AP Lead with audit controls in accounts payable
  • Verify invoices and requisitions
  • Prepare batches of invoices for data entry
  • Resolve purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and payment discrepancies
