Senior Accounts Manager – Building Mesh Position Snapshot Represents Insteel Wire Products by selling and servicing Building Mesh accounts. Serves as primary account manager of specific high profile/ high volume accounts. Secures market information necessary to assist Sales Manager in setting price parameters. Aids in forecasting and monitors sales by customer and takes direct action to ensure sales objectives are met. Assists National Sales Manager in all areas of Building Mesh production scheduling and inventory control. Plans, directs, and monitors the work of Inside Sales Representatives and provides on-going training in all skills with a particular emphasis on customer service. Resolves and works to prevent customer service issues such as those related to communications, traffic, shipping, inventory, and production. Assumes primary decision-making role in absence of National Sales Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities An individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Special Accounts Manager Maintains contact with selected customers to solicit, establish pricing structure, sell, and review status of relationship and performance to customer expectations in order to meet/exceed sales objectives. Travels to selected accounts in an organized and systematic manner for the most profitable and economical use of time and dollar expenditures. Performs necessary follow-up actions necessary as result of visitation. Assists National Sales Manager in scheduling production for Building Mesh Maintains knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and best use of equipment. Tracks inventory levels per style against minimum required levels. Establishes efficient production quantities and sequencing. Creates discrete jobs as required by forecasted needs and as indicated by historical data. Communicates and collaborates with scheduling personnel at manufacturing plants. Informs Building Mesh Sales Department of inventory problems and schedule changes. Handles or assigns responsibility for handling orders requiring outside processing. Trains additional second back up personnel for all aspects of scheduling. Assigns responsibilities and monitors the performance of second back up scheduling personnel. Assumes primary decision-making role for scheduling and production planning in absence of National Sales Manager. Assists National Sales Manager in meeting Building Mesh sales objectives. Stays abreast of specific customer requirements and current market pricing trends and conditions. Assists in forecasting sales volume and average selling prices. Secures market information to assist NSM in setting pricing parameters. Stays current on raw material, conversion, transportation, and other costs. Assists in calculating prices and maintains price lists and master price list spreadsheets. Serves as primary account manager of specific high-volume / high profile accounts. Assumes primary decision-making role in all issues relating to sales and pricing in absence of NSM. Supervises Inside Sales Representatives (ISR) Interviews and recommends hiring of new Inside Sales Representatives and provides training for new hires. Provides assistance and on-going training for ISRs in product knowledge, computer skills, sales skills, and communication skills in order to provide stellar customer service. Maintains training manual. Recommends call frequency and strategies to increase sales and provide excellence in customer service. Monitors workload of each ISR to determine appropriate amount of time needed for handling all aspects of selling and servicing their accounts. Assigns appropriate work schedules and suggests staffing modifications as needed. Assists Inside Sales Representatives in resolving customer service-related issues and complaints/claims. Monitors hours worked, absences, vacations and verifies time sheets prior to presenting to Payroll. Resolution satisfaction to Insteel and customers Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises approximately seven Insides Sales Representatives. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring with assistance of NSM, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Suggestions and recommendations as to hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or other status changes of supervised employees is given particular weight.
