About The Position

The Senior Accounting Technician will serve as a key member of the Finance Department by performing complex technical accounting work and supporting the City’s daily financial operations. The Senior Accounting Technician position will serve the Eastvale community with a “can do” attitude and “get it done” approach to work in a fast-paced environment while working closely with a talented, energetic, and highly engaged team of City talent.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or satisfactory equivalent, supplemented by college level coursework in accounting or related field.
  • Three years of general or accounting experience, including some statistical or financial record keeping.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to analyze, reconcile, and manage complex data with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both internal staff and external customers, providing responsive, solution-oriented support and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, take ownership of their work, and are highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking, consistently seeking opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen the effectiveness of the City’s financial operations while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing Finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage developer deposits, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Provide accounts payable support.
  • Coordinate storm water and miscellaneous accounts receivable billing.
  • Administer unclaimed property compliance activities.
