About The Position

Filoli is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations. Reporting to the Controller, you won’t just be managing a ledger—you’ll be a strategic partner to our program directors, a mentor to a talented team of three, and a champion for financial clarity in a dynamic non-profit setting. This is a full-time, year-round, salaried, benefit-eligible position typically scheduled Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with flexibility, seasonal overtime, and off-hours commitment required. The salary range is $149,000 to $163,000, depending on candidate experience.

Requirements

7+ years of accounting experience
3+ years of supervisory experience
Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
Understanding of the nuances of multiple revenue streams in a non-profit setting
Proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas
Excitement about using AI and work management platforms
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate seasonal peaks with grace and a problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

Own the day-to-day general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting to ensure audit-readiness and GAAP compliance.
Partner with department leaders to turn complex data into actionable budgets and forecasts using modern FP&A tools.
Lead, coach, and inspire the accounting team (AP Financial Analyst, AR Accountant, and Staff Accountant).
Leverage AI tools (like Claude and Gemini) and platforms like Monday.com and Pigment to streamline workflows and build a 'Finance Help Center'.
Manage tax filings (Form 990, sales tax) and coordinate annual audits with a focus on transparency and integrity.
