With a strong track record of program impact and fiscal responsibility, Amity Foundation is seeking a dedicated finance professional to help steward the organization's resources and support its continued growth. Amity Foundation is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to oversee monthly close processes, balance sheet integrity, and audit coordination. This is a hybrid role based in Tucson, Arizona, requiring a minimum of two workdays per week on-site. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting leader with strong technical expertise, a collaborative management style, and a passion for supporting mission-driven work.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in an accounting role; OR 4+ years of accounting experience with a minimum of 2+ years in an attestation (audit) role.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required (Accounting, Finance, or related field).
  • Demonstrated experience performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including: Bank accounts, Fixed assets, Prepaid expenses, Accounts receivable, Bad debt reserves, Accrued expenses, Loan amortization schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly close processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 4 accounting staff, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support.
  • Coordinate and lead annual company and contract audits, serving as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Partner with senior leadership to strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting processes.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analyses as needed.
