This role oversees a team or teams, which may include accountants, accounts receivable clerks, payroll professionals, or accounts payable processors. The position reports to the Accounting Director and is responsible for ensuring accounting systems are in place and followed, developing training documentation and procedures to improve staff efficiency and processes, compiling financial statements and reports, and producing monthly, quarterly, and yearly budget and forecast reports for upper management. The role also involves coordinating staff audit schedules, establishing timelines for project completion, verifying financial transaction records with supporting documents, coaching and mentoring staff to establish development goals, and verifying compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements with outside agencies. Other tasks may be assigned.
