Requirements

  • Ensure systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company and legal policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • 7-10 years of overall experience in an accounting role is required, 1 to 2 years of managerial experience is a must
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas & macros) and prior experience with ERP systems, data mining, accounting software, financial systems, and master data governance is required
  • Proven leadership skills and initiative
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • High level communication skills to interact with all levels of management
  • Able to organize, multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • NB: Successful candidates will be required to provide photo ID, banking details, a valid SIN number, and (if applicable) a valid work permit

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing A/R team, fostering a collaborative environment within the team and broader finance team by sharing best practices, industry trends, and process improvements.
  • Monitor all invoicing and account reconciliation processes including managing escalations in AR discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze current AR processes and comment on continuous improvements where applicable along with recommendations on discounting programs (Faster collection cycle).
  • Compile and complete monthly AR reconciliation to balance sheet and address/ resolve variances.
  • Collaborate with the month-end/year-end closing procedures by ensuring AR invoicing, commissions, and absorption costing for finished goods are completed on time and with 100% accuracy.
  • Complete relevant JE for month end.
  • Provide support during annual audits by preparing and maintaining schedules and proactively resolving issues for a positive outcome.
  • Review financial models and rationale for capital expenditures in YYF Global (CAPEX) including the preparation of the budget, maintenance of asset registry, asset tagging, and monthly depreciation entries.
  • Report on monthly CAPEX performance for YYF Global along with forecast (Currently 3 sites).
  • Manage and maintain base compensation data, including the tracking, monitoring, and monthly reporting of overtime to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective workforce cost management.
  • Support in preparing BOD presentation relating to CAPEX.
  • Manage budgeting, tracking, and reporting for employee recognition programs across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
  • Prepare and present a monthly cost review to GLT & Site Leadership Monthly.
  • Budget, review, and report on purchasing team expenses by working cross-functionally with the purchasing team. Propose cost control methods and provide detailed analysis of variance.
  • Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which include, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
  • Compliance with all rules and policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
  • Ensure systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company and legal policies.
