About The Position

Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Senior Accounting Associate to join their dynamic Client Accounting Services team. This role will help clients maximize their opportunities. The firm is a Top 20 CPA and advisory firm with a significant U.S. and international presence, known for its expertise, strategic foresight, and positive culture. The Senior Accounting Associate will work with clients to prepare financial statements, perform tax services, and provide consulting, with some supervision and direct client interaction.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in public or private accounting
  • Experience with financial statements and tax returns is required
  • Prior experience in public accounting is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working with real estate clients is highly preferred
  • Bachelors degree is strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Ability to think critically
  • Ability to handle more than one project / task at a time
  • Ability to learn different software and understand how they work and improve the firm
  • Proficient communication skills to talk to clients and team members
  • Experience with Yardi

Nice To Haves

  • Real estate industry experience
  • Experience with Sage Intacct
  • Background in public accounting or professional services
  • Experience with real estate investment structures, REITs, and fund accounting
  • Proven ability to drive efficiencies and improvements within client systems and processes

Responsibilities

  • Prepare/write up full monthly work for more complex clients
  • Communicate with team members for missing items for monthly work
  • Calculate, review, and analyze financial ratios
  • Maintain client relationship and discuss open items
  • Operate effectively within client accounting systems, including Yardi (required) and Sage Intacct (preferred), to support day-to-day accounting and reporting needs.
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Perform tax services and consulting for clients
  • Complete more complex business and personal tax returns
  • Work closely on income tax projections, cash flow projections, and buy/sell transactions
