About The Position

As a Senior Accounting Associate I at JLL, you will serve as a critical financial steward for a portfolio of 4 to 6 properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting that drives informed decision-making for our clients. This role combines technical accounting expertise with client relationship management, requiring you to deliver precision in financial statement preparation while serving as a trusted resource to property teams. You will contribute directly to JLL's mission of creating transformative real estate solutions by maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and client service across your assigned portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel; strong working knowledge of spreadsheet functions and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize workload to meet demanding client deadlines.
  • Client-focused mindset with proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships, earning trust and respect from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to establish clear action plans, execute effectively, and evaluate results.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change; ability to make sound decisions without complete information and handle risk and uncertainty confidently.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-5 years of accounting experience; real estate accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with real estate-specific software platforms such as MRI or Yardi.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access for database management and reporting.
  • Demonstrated adaptability in maintaining effectiveness across varying environments, tasks, and responsibilities.
  • Experience coordinating or participating in audit processes (internal or external).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly and quarterly property financial statements for your assigned portfolio, meeting all client-established deadlines and internal quality standards.
  • Execute the complete monthly/quarterly close process, including journal entry preparation, financial statement generation, and bank reconciliations in strict adherence to internal controls and client reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the primary accounting resource for site property teams, coordinating procedures, clarifying accounting questions, and responding promptly to client inquiries.
  • Manage the accounts payable process by reviewing invoice coding and approvals to ensure full compliance with established controls and policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities, working cross-functionally with various departments to fulfill audit requirements efficiently.
  • Oversee cash management functions, including bank reconciliations, loan servicing, and disbursement processing with external reporting responsibilities.
  • Support the annual budget preparation process by compiling key assumptions and capital budget data, reviewing for accuracy and reasonableness, and ensuring timely system entry.
  • Lead the annual year-end reconciliation process, preparing calculations and reviewing adjustments to ensure all billing occurs timely and correctly per lease requirements.
