Senior Accounting Associate I – Client Accounting Services – JLL What this job involves: We are seeking a skilled Senior Accounting Associate I to join our Client Accounting Services team in Westmont, IL. In this role, you will manage complex accounting tasks, prepare comprehensive financial statements, and provide dedicated support to our diverse client portfolio. You will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial analysis, assisting with closings, and serving as a mentor to junior staff members. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience; real estate experience is a plus
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel (Access knowledge desirable)
• Proven ability to multitask, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload to meet client needs
• Demonstrated client focus with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships, gaining trust and respect
• Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to establish a course of action to accomplish goals and evaluate results
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (this position does not provide sponsorship)

Nice To Haves

• Experience with real estate-specific software, specifically MRI or Yardi
• Adaptability to maintain effectiveness in varying environments, tasks, and responsibilities, or with various types of people
• Ability to effectively cope with ambiguity, shift gears comfortably, and make decisions without having the total picture

• Complete understanding of internal accounting requirements and ability to ensure requirements are met as established by the client

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly/quarterly property financial statements for a 4 to 6 property portfolio by deadlines established by the client
• Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries, complete financial statement preparation, and conduct bank reconciliations within stated controls and client reporting requirements
• Function as a key resource to site property teams by coordinating procedures, responding to accounting questions, and addressing client inquiries
• Oversee internal and external audits and coordinate with various departments on requirements, ensuring compliance and accuracy
• Manage bank reconciliations, cash management for loan servicing, disbursement processing, and external reporting
• Coordinate the Accounts Payable process by reviewing invoice coding and approvals and ensuring compliance with all appropriate controls
• Assist with annual budget preparation by compiling key assumptions and capital budget information, reviewing for reasonableness, and ensuring timely entry into the accounting system
• Support the annual year-end reconciliation process by assisting in preparation, calculation, and review, ensuring all adjustments are billed timely and correctly per lease requirement
