About The Position

The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for assisting leadership in collecting, analyzing, and projecting key operational, financial, and statistical information that can be continually measured against quantifiable targets established by all levels of authority, ranging from the departmental managers to the Board of Directors. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of GAAP experience, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close
  • 1+ years of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite)
  • Strong research and data analysis skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Exhibits a desire to learn
  • Ability to plan and organize work, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines

  • Non-profit accounting experience preferred
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant or CPA eligible preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial and statistical reports and monitors trends and variances.
  • Prepares reports identifying differences between current actual results, budgeted targets, and prior year actual results.
  • Prepares a schedule of projected cash flows, including producing dashboards that measure cash inflows and outflows.
  • Prepares month- and year-end journal entries to post to the general ledger.
  • Assists with processing of invoices and budgets.
  • Prepares ad hoc financial analyses.
  • Reviews all bank accounts and cash flows, and monitors Treasury investments to best inform Senior Management.
  • Develops new reports and analyses.
  • Assists with data compilation and report preparation.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial models.
  • Prepares analysis required for model development.
  • Works with the operational department as needed to develop inputs for the model.
  • Manages and manipulates data as required to maintain financial models.
  • Assists in the preparation of the operating budget.
  • Prepares analysis required for budget preparation and completion.
  • Works with departmental leaders as needed to assist with the completion of departmental operating budgets.
  • Produces and distributes budget reports and documentation.
  • Develops program cost analysis and outcome reporting for grantors.
  • Provides financial analysis for partnerships, shared-service agreements, and capital investments related to expansion.
  • Performs special projects, as needed.
