The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas with employees worldwide. The Staff Accountant supports core accounting cycles with a focus on accuracy and timely close execution. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining reconciliations, and contributing to the month-end close process under the guidance of senior team members. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a willingness to collaborate across departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum 2–4 years of accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic formulas).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to work cross-functionally with FP&A and internal stakeholders.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with ERP or database systems a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly revenue journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP, providing support for the reviewer.
- Prepare monthly prepaid expense journal entries and reconciliations, maintaining accurate amortization schedules.
- Prepare monthly accrued expense journal entries and reconciliations, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information.
- Assist with the coding and processing of monthly issuing bank and payment network billings, ensuring proper GL classification.
- Assist in the preparation of select monthly deliverable files required under the Company's rTSA agreement, in coordination with the Lead Accountant.
- Extract and organize financial data from accounting systems including Oracle Fusion, Snowflake, and Adaptive/Office Connect to support journal entries and reconciliations.
- Identify and flag account variances and discrepancies for review; assist in researching and resolving differences under direction.
- Maintain clear and organized work papers for all assigned close processes.
- Assist in preparing schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors for assigned account areas.
- Coordinate with Legal, FP&A, FinOps, Treasury, Accounting Operations, Operations, and external partners to gather information necessary for accurate and timely close completion.
- Support management requests for financial analysis and reporting as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
