About The Position

This position plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial operations by ensuring accurate cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining standard and actual costs, reconciling inventory and general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and delivering financial reports and variance analyses. The role also collaborates cross-functionally with operations and engineering, assists in audits, and serves as a backup to assistant controller. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned: Cost Accounting & Inventory Management Maintain and analyze standard and actual costs for materials, labor, and overhead Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, including cycle counts and adjustments. Review and validate bill of materials (BOM) for accuracy and completeness. Investigate and explain cost variances (PPV, usage, labor, overhead). Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Prepare and post journal entries related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and accruals. Reconcile general ledger accounts, including inventory and WIP. Assist in closing the books timely and accurately each month. Support budgeting and forecasting processes with cost and inventory insights. Provide variance analysis and commentary for financial results. Requirements

  • A minimum of a BS or BA in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory valuation is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in Accounting and or CPA preferred.
