We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support our team at our corporate location in Cincinnati, Ohio Summary: The senior accountant position is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance and accounting department and ensuring that the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the division and organization as a whole. Prepares financial reports and demonstrates successful application of accounting principles in analysis of financial information

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and enter payroll journal entries from payroll system, also uses payroll reports to create and maintain various rosters, lists, and worksheets used for management analysis, accruals, government reporting, etc.
  • Prepare analysis/support for and enter any/all journal entries.
  • Prepare financial reports and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset files.
  • Prepare monthly trend analyses reports for review.
  • Compile sales and use tax returns data for review.
  • Perform monthly billing of invoices for the engineering department. Enter all miscellaneous invoices.
  • Assist with the development of forecasts and rolling budgets.
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and COSO 2013 compliance procedures.
  • Serve as backup for selected Controller responsibilities. Assist with accounts payable and billing responsibilities, when needed.
  • Represent LSI Industries in the most positive manner with prospective, current and former employees, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.
  • Interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group of employees and customers.
  • Learn and practice standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance based on the work hours established by management
  • Handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
