About The Position

Vantedge Medical is seeking a Senior Accountant to own general ledger accounting for its San Jose, CA facility. This role is centered on the mechanics of accurate, on-time books: labor journal entries, the month-end close, and day-to-day cash book management. Beyond the close, the Senior Accountant provides analytical support to the FP&A function and assists the plant with cost and inventory accounting. The role reports to the Operations Controller at the San Jose facility and works on-site full-time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive general ledger/accounting experience, including direct ownership of month-end close tasks.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation work).
  • Experience with an ERP or accounting system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage close deadlines independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing industry experience, ideally in a cost-accounting or inventory-heavy environment.
  • Exposure to standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis.
  • Experience with Infor Visual.
  • Experience supporting FP&A or budgeting processes.
  • Experience in a private equity-owned or multi-site manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare and post labor-related journal entries, including labor distribution and allocation across cost centers, departments, and work orders.
  • Prepare month-end close journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations against the close calendar.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly; research and clear reconciling items on a timely basis.
  • Partner with AP/AR to ensure accurate cutoff and coding at period end.
  • Support internal controls documentation and respond to internal and external audit requests as needed.
  • Maintain the company cash book: record daily cash receipts and disbursements and reconcile to bank statements.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and flag discrepancies to the Operations Controller.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for all cash transactions in line with company policy.
  • Assist the Operations Controller with budget-to-actual variance analysis and monthly management reporting.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and ad hoc analyses for FP&A deliverables.
  • Help maintain financial models and reporting templates used for forecasting and planning.
  • Support standard cost maintenance, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis (labor, material, and overhead).
  • Assist with cycle count and physical inventory processes, including reconciliation of count results to the general ledger.
  • Partner with operations and plant personnel to investigate and explain cost variances.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements that strengthen the accuracy and efficiency of the close.
  • Maintain documentation consistent with the internal controls expected of a private equity-owned platform company.
