About The Position

Omatic is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team and support accurate, timely financial reporting as the company grows. The role owns key parts of the month-end close, maintains the general ledger, and supports audit, compliance, and technical accounting work for a SaaS business. It also contributes to team development, smooth close operations, and process efficiency. The Senior Accountant owns components of monthly, quarterly, and annual close; maintains financial data across entities; researches and documents technical accounting matters; supports the annual financial statement audit; and helps strengthen internal controls. The role partners with the Controller on systems and automation initiatives, documents accounting policies and procedures, mentors team members, and manages accounting-team ad hoc requests without disrupting the close. During the first 90 days, the Senior Accountant will learn Omatic’s accounting systems and close process, build relationships with finance and cross-functional colleagues, progressively take ownership of close deliverables, review and mentor staff accountants, identify process improvements, and implement or begin at least one improvement to reduce manual effort or close time.

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business.

  • Help maintain and strengthen internal controls appropriate for a PE-backed company.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the close cycle.
  • Partner with the Controller on systems and automation initiatives, such as ERP and close management, as the finance function scales.
  • Document accounting policies and procedures for a growing, distributed finance team.
  • Mentor and develop team members’ technical skills and support their growth into more advanced responsibilities.
  • Manage intake and prioritization of ad hoc requests and one-off analyses directed to the accounting team, ensuring they do not disrupt the close.
  • Work with the team to streamline manual, repetitive processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Review staff accountant work and provide consistent, constructive feedback.
  • Meet close deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and take ownership of assigned close deliverables.
