About The Position

CHARM Fertility is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing Finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and confident managing full-cycle accounting in a fast-paced, patient-centred healthcare environment. Working closely with Senior Management, the Senior Accountant will manage full-cycle accounting processes, supporting month-end and year-end close, prepare financial reports, and assist with healthcare-related billing and reconciliations, including OHIP billing. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and providing financial information to assist management decision-making.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Accountant, preferably in a healthcare or medical clinic setting.
  • Experience with OHIP billing process is required.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliations, and financial reporting tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and reconciliation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation or CPA enrolment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Complete month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, trial balances, supporting schedules, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support management decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and account balances to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
  • Support OHIP billing- related accounting processes, including reconciliation of billings, payments, adjustments, and discrepancies.
  • Assist with government remittances, audit preparation, tax documentation, and year-end working papers.
  • Support payroll-related accounting as required, including reconciliation of payroll expenses, deductions and remittances etc.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, billing variances, and reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Liaise with auditors, vendors, financial institutions, and other financial partners as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial data and sensitive information.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
