About The Position

The Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy of ledger entries and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. The role maintains financial records, ensures transactions are properly recorded, and may review and guide the work of lower-level accountants. The successful candidate contributes to timely and accurate financial reporting and implements controls around operations and SOX compliance. The position is based in Itasca, Illinois, and is full-time. It requires a bachelor's degree and offers a salary of $90,000 to $100,000 per year.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Accounting experience at an SEC registrant company or a public accounting firm with SEC clients.
Proficient understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience running financial reports and managing complex accounting operations with minimum supervision.

Nice To Haves

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate.
Knowledge of the Epicor ERP system.
Manufacturing industry experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and related supporting schedules.
Manage accounting areas including warranty accruals, company payroll and benefit account review, prepaid items, debt, and fixed assets.
Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Communicate findings throughout the company as needed.
Prepare complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
Analyze costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses.
Create ad hoc financial and accounting reports for internal and external regulatory audit compliance analysis.
Work on special projects and perform other accounting assignments as needed.
Develop and document policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility.
Work with Internal Audit and the Accounting Manager to support remediation of internal controls.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
