About The Position

Are you mission-driven and interested in using your accounting background to support animals in need? The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), one of New England’s leading animal welfare organizations, is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our organization. This full-time position is based out of our Dedham location.

Requirements

• Skilled and motivated

• Understand GAAP
• Understand the close cycle
• Understand payroll mechanics
• Understand how the pieces of a non-profit's books fit together
• Genuinely enjoy reconciliation work
• Genuinely enjoy audit prep
• Genuinely enjoy the rhythm of the monthly close
• Desire to own the GL
• Possess the technical skill and professional capacity needed to deliver a clean, on-time close each month.

Responsibilities

• Understand GAAP, the close cycle, payroll mechanics, and how the pieces of a non-profit's books fit together.
• Genuinely enjoy reconciliation work, audit prep, and the rhythm of the monthly close with a desire to own the GL.
• Possess the technical skill and professional capacity needed to deliver a clean, on-time close each month.
