About The Position

To support the Controller in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department and ensuring accurate financial statements. This position includes fixed assets, inventory, and light cost accounting. It is an exciting time to join Modineer Group as we continue to grow and enhance processes!

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting is required.
  • Degree(s) must be from a credible college or university.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
  • Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves.
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be highly skilled in the use of Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Must have very good verbal skills.
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to complete a month end or year-end close.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting completing reconciliations, journal entries, inventory, fixed assets or costing.

  • Course work in job costing is recommended or work-related experience in costing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, prepare reconciliations, and prepare inventory roll forward.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules using Bloomberg asset software. Prepare monthly general journal entries, CIP report and ensure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain capital leases in Lease Query.
  • Complete standard cost rolls on new parts.
  • Prepare the annual standards for labor and overhead.
  • Complete annual cost roll.
  • Assist in the implementation and testing of new processes.
  • Analyze cost accounting data working to understand and supply management information on the variances as it relates to inventory, labor, and overhead.
  • Prepare weekly consolidated inventory report.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated sales report.
  • Assist with physical inventories.
  • Support and assist department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedule and others.
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice - by the CFO, Corporate Controller or Controller.
