About The Position

Thayer Infrastructure is a premier service provider in the Power and Fiber construction industries. Having an experienced team allows the company to provide excellent customer service and to be a true partner to its clients from concept to reality. We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Accountant at our office in Pataskala, Ohio. The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role plays a key part in month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation, while also supporting process improvements and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit requirements.
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues and provide recommendations.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
• Support special projects, financial analyses, and ad-hoc reporting requests.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
