About The Position

Lumens is looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Senior Accountant who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings both technical precision and business savvy to the table. You'll play a central role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly — from partnering with our Controller to ensure the integrity of our general ledger to supporting our sales organization on credit and collections and ensuring timely sales tax filings.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a mid-size or growth-stage company
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Strong hands-on experience with general ledger reconciliation and month-end close
  • Proficiency in NetSuite, including report building and saved searches
  • Experience overseeing credit and collections, including credit risk assessment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas are second nature to you
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
  • Experience with sales and use tax compliance across multiple states
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally

  • CPA or CPA candidacy a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage the credit and collections function, including working closely with our sales team to approve credit terms
  • Leverage NetSuite to maintain financial data, generate reports, and support month-end close
  • Build and maintain Excel-based models and analyses to support financial decision-making
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales and operations to ensure financial processes run efficiently
  • Lead and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and accruals
  • Prepare and file timely and accurate sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement best practices across the accounting function
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
