About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Corporate Controller to manage and maintain our accounting management information. This includes developing manual/automated accounting applications, participating in month-end close activities, and reconciling various general ledger and liability account balances to ensure their accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years or more experience in accounting
  • Knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles, including internal control, cost accounting and taxes.
  • Knowledge of computer information systems and spreadsheets to present financial information.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Ability to maintain effective and professional relationships with patients and other members of the care team.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in month-end close activities, including preparation of monthly/standard journal entries, review of allocations and estimates, and correction of errors.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly internal financial statements and related reports.
  • Participates in maintaining federal ledger, including preparing financial schedules and writing journal entries for such items as interest income, prepaid insurance.
  • Maintains chart of accounts.
  • Maintains amortization schedules for mortgages, etc.
  • Assists independent auditors with year-end audits and assists in verifying accuracy of reports.
  • Prepares required audit work and reports.
  • Maintain monthly bank reconciliations.
