Senior Accountant

Vessel Technologies•New York, NY

About The Position

Vessel is a housing company combining design and advanced manufacturing to create sustainable, attainable housing. Backed by Mosaic Ventures and Lennar, the company is scaling to meet demand. The Senior Accountant ensures the completeness and accuracy of automated accounting records across all entities, owns underlying transaction accuracy and reconciliations, and reports to the Controller. The Controller owns the close calendar, period-end entries, and financial reporting. The role covers bank and card matching, Ramp exception management, payroll recording, inventory and cost accounting, intercompany transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, customer billing, and process automation. • Experience with Ramp or a similar spend platform.
  • Solid accrual accounting and US GAAP fundamentals, including intercompany accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Accuracy, reliability in meeting deadlines, and a preference for fixing recurring process issues rather than repeating manual entries.

  • Record biweekly payroll in NetSuite by entity and department from the Controller's summary payroll journal, separating direct production labor from overhead and tying the entry to the cash debit.
  • Maintain accurate raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods balances in NetSuite; support physical and cycle counts; and track production costs including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Record both sides of intercompany transfers and ensure intercompany balances agree between entities each month.
