About The Position

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract-to-hire position in the North Dallas area. This role involves performing daily inventory reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies, monitoring inventory movements, and analyzing inventory-related activity. The Senior Accountant will also support transportation cost tracking, work closely with various teams, and assist with reporting and process improvement initiatives. This is a fully on-site position.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–5+ years of contract accounting experience (level commensurate with experience)
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in the fuel, energy, or commodities industry preferred
Strong knowledge of GL accounting, including CIP, LIFO, and exchange transactions
Experience with fuel pricing or cost accounting highly desirable

Responsibilities

Performing daily inventory reconciliations across multiple locations and systems
Researching and resolving volume, inventory, and transaction discrepancies
Monitoring inventory movements and ensuring data accuracy
Analyzing inventory-related activity and identifying issues requiring follow-up
Supporting transportation cost tracking and reconciliation efforts
Working closely with operations, logistics, and accounting teams
Assisting with reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives
