About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions including adjustments, variance analysis and journal entries creations, all supported with requisite documentation. This role aids in the leadership of the accounting team members and the support of their continued growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with at least 2-5 years’ of relevant experience in an accounting function is required.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Strong Excel skills are required.
  • Experience with and knowledge of ERP accounting software, and all Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operating personnel.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision in resolving generally understood and/or more complex issues.
  • Flexibility, multi-tasking, creative thinking, good business judgment, strong organizational & communication skills are all required to meet strict deadlines and manage other projects.
  • Must be a strong team player and leader, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure during peak periods.
  • Ability to perform complex or highly technical accounting tasks and functions.
  • Ability to communicate well with internal and external parties, including other regions, customers, banks, vendors, internal accountants and provide excellent customer service

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle experience preferred.
  • Experience in a central location managing field accounting activities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Processes Receivables and posts cash receipts to the receivables
  • Logs in Daily payments to the Accounting Payments Spreadsheet
  • Closely works with the data team to indicate payment type and detail
  • Processes and monitors annual Tradeshow Invoices and payments, corresponding with vendors to collect on delinquent accounts
  • Performs AR Aging and closely works with the Data Team to determine bad debt and write offs
  • Works closely with the Data Team to determine correct application of Cash Receipts.
  • Assists with processing payables
  • Processes and Monitors Credit Card charges
  • Posts Monthly Journal Entries not limited to Sales Territory reclasses, GL adjustments, Concur Expenses.
  • Performs multi account Bank Reconciliations verifying any adjustments and accurately posts to the corresponding account to reconcile.
  • Takes accountability for accurately posting entries to the Accounting Software
  • Arranges and Monitors document retention process
  • Processes quarterly Loyalty and Rewards Check Distribution Imports
  • Ad Hoc Projects as instructed by Accounting Manager
  • Performs general ledger accounting tasks including journal entries, opening and closing analysis, month end journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Supports team through leadership and continued development of accounting team members
  • Complete accounting and reporting activities in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and prescribed accounting policies and/or the financial procedures of the organization.
  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
  • Ensure month-end close and financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Act as a liaison with the general ledger and corporate accounting teams to ensure regular timely and accurate closes.
  • Preparation of standard reporting templates and packages are completed accurately and timely.
  • Provide documentation and support to internal and external auditors.
  • Help nurture an environment of continuous process improvement in the general ledger function.
