Senior Accountant
About The Position
The Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting role involves assisting with various financial reporting tasks, including monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions to stakeholders. The position requires drafting financial statements in accordance with GAAP, staying updated on regulatory changes, and coordinating with external accounting firms for audits and reviews. Additionally, the role supports the quarterly and annual tax reporting process, reconciles GL accounts, prepares journal entries, and maintains depreciation schedules for multiple entities. The Senior Accountant will also handle ad hoc requests from senior management and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and concepts
- Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience required
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines are a must
- Very strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite of products
Nice To Haves
- fund accounting experience
- CPA a plus
- Experience with multi-entity companies a plus
- Prior knowledge of General Ledger software packages a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist with submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to lenders, owners, and fund managers
- Draft financial statements in accordance with GAAP; remain up-to-date with GAAP rule changes and other regulatory requirements
- Assist in coordinating annual audits and reviews with outside Accounting firms
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax reporting process with internal service providers
- Reconcile GL accounts and prepare supporting schedules as needed
- Preparation of journal entries and other month-end responsibilities
- Maintain depreciation schedules for multiple entities
- Facilitate completion of ad hoc requests from senior management, lenders, owners, financial advisers and other stakeholders
