About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and overseeing the financial records and bookkeeping activities to ensure accuracy and compliance. This role includes processing tax-related information and select returns, performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, supporting cost and project accounting and conducting detailed financial analysis. Additionally, prepares financial reports and management reporting packages to support decision-making for leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Three years of accounting or finance related experience is required
  • Analytical skills, including the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights and recommendations
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting; familiarity with other requirements where applicable
  • High level of integrity, judgment, and decision‑making skills, with a strong commitment to ethical standards​
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards) and advanced Excel and reporting tools
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment​
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform project-level cost accounting by analyzing income and expenses, identifying variances, and providing actionable insights to support profitability, forecasting, and financial performance across active projects
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain detailed cost accounting schedules across multiple concurrent construction projects, ensuring accurate tracking of budgets, commitments, actuals, and variances to support timely financial reporting and project decision-making
  • Prepare monthly production reporting and related sales analysis to support accurate revenue tracking, performance monitoring, and management reporting
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account analysis, and adherence to accounting policies and internal controls
  • Reconciles bank accounts on a monthly basis, verify deposits for accuracy and completeness, and promptly investigate and resolve banking inquiries and discrepancies
  • Support external auditors by coordinating requests, compiling required account analyses and documentation, facilitating annual audit process
  • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
  • Serve as backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment application, collections follow-up, and issue resolution as needed
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
