About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This role involves a wide range of accounting functions, including invoice processing, journal entry preparation, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and internal control maintenance. The Senior Accountant will also play a key role in analyzing financial data, supporting business partners, generating reports, identifying process improvements, and mentoring junior staff. This is a contract position with opportunities to participate in special projects and system implementations.

Requirements

  • Expert Level experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in reviewing, processing, and ensuring timely payment of approved vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
  • Ability to prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and compliance.
  • Experience performing month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Skill in reconciling general ledger accounts and investigating discrepancies.
  • Capability to analyze financial data and account activity.
  • Experience in assisting with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Knowledge of maintaining and strengthening internal controls.
  • Ability to support internal and external audit requests.
  • Strong collaboration skills with business partners and department leaders.
  • Experience generating and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
  • Mentoring and guidance skills for junior accounting staff.
  • Willingness to participate in special projects, system implementations, and process optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Review, process, and ensure timely payment of approved vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company accounting policies.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze financial data and account activity to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with business partners and department leaders to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
  • Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within accounting operations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis activities as needed.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, assisting with training and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in special projects, system implementations, and process optimization initiatives as assigned.
