Senior Accountant, Government Audit

About The Position
UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform government audits of consultant and expense contract payments, including overhead audits, in accordance with applicable municipal directives and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). This is a hybrid, full-time, two-year W2 hourly contract on a client engagement, based in Flushing, New York. The role involves on-site work in Flushing and remote work as directed by the client's project manager. The work schedule is 40 hours per week.
Requirements
- Meet one of the following qualifications: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance plus five years of auditing or accounting experience; or a New York State CPA license plus two years of auditing or accounting experience.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of City or State financial auditing experience.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and audit the processing of payment vouchers on consultant and expense contracts.
- Perform overhead audits in line with FAR guidelines, as needed.
- Conduct site visits as needed.
- Provide findings and recommendations to the client's audit staff.
