About The Position
Ameri-Kart, a Myers Industries Company (NYSE: MYE), is one of the largest custom molding manufacturers in the United States. We are a full-service molder, focusing on recreational vehicles, marine, industrial, heavy truck and material handling markets. We manufacture a wide range of molded plastic products and complete product assembly to meet your specific design requirements. Senior Staff Accountant Job Overview: This position is primarily responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, cost and margin analyses, and audit support. The position is part of a small team of accountants and other finance personnel, collaborating to provide financial and accounting support to the business.
Requirements
- Ability to analyze financial data, recognize errors and implement corrections
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of PC spreadsheets, word processing and database applications (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL and OneStream preferred)
- Overall comprehensive understanding of business processes, with manufacturing experience preferred
- Highly motivated, self-starter with good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, with 4+ years of related experience
- Strong background in an internal control environment including SOX compliance
- Experience with ERP application a plus
Nice To Haves
- Graduate Degree, CPA or CMA Preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly closing activities to ensure that financial statements and general ledgers are closed timely and accurately
- Prepare & review various month end journal entries & reconciliations in accordance with policies and timelines
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Assist with preparation of monthly & quarterly reporting packages and various operational analytics
- Assist with fixed assets, standard costing, margin analysis, balance sheet & income statement analytics and forecasting
- Assist with performance of various SOX compliance procedures
- Support internal and external audits
- Assist with physical inventories
