About The Position

Bishop Lifting Products, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Finance team. The role owns critical accounting processes and supports accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings technical accounting expertise and a continuous-improvement mindset. With demonstrated success, the person may be a candidate for future promotion to Assistant Controller and ultimately Controller.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Proven expertise in managing complex accounting tasks.
• Exceptional attention to detail and well-developed analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Experience with Business Dynamics 365 or similar ERP software systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large data sets.

Nice To Haves

• CPA, CMA, or MBA.
• Experience managing the financial close process for multiple entities across different jurisdictions.
• Knowledge of tax and regulatory requirements related to financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and ensure comprehensive, timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and ad hoc reports.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including ASC 805 and ASC 842.
• Apply cost accounting principles, including KPI tracking and reporting, to support process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare supporting schedules for year-end audits and provide external auditors with necessary documentation and insights.
• Participate in special projects and partner with cross-functional teams to align on company goals and accounting impacts.
• Mentor and guide junior staff, modeling accountability and a “right the first time” approach.
