About The Position

GEMCORE is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial planning and analysis, general accounting, and corporate finance across its growing, multi-state family of companies. The role partners with the business to improve financial performance and processes and support strategic decision-making. The Senior Accountant will work with a collaborative team and cross-functional partners, contribute ideas and process improvements, and help support the company’s growth. The position is hybrid remote/in-office, with the office located in Hudson, Ohio. The schedule is 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Four to six years of general accounting experience, including financial analysis.
Excellent written, verbal, technology, and leadership skills.
Familiarity with accounting and cost accounting principles, practices, and concepts.
Ability to multitask, interact with others, and demonstrate above-average time management skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft D365 is preferred.
A Master’s degree in Finance or an MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Record financial information in the general ledger in compliance with established standards, policies, and applicable Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including balance sheet account reconciliations and revenue and expense account analyses.
Prepare internal and external financial statements.
Assist with internal management reporting and external audit support.
Design, implement, and execute efficient internal control procedures.
Compile financial commitments and obligations data to predict future revenues and expenditures and forecast budgets.
Review and analyze sales and use tax laws in all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.
