About The Position

This full-time, hybrid role at our Windsor Tepperman’s location is an immediate opportunity to join our team and fill a current vacancy. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Governance, the Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close processes, reconciliations, government remittances, and audit preparation while working closely with the accounting team and across all retail locations. This position is well-suited for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of their work, and is motivated to support sound financial decision-making through strong technical accounting expertise.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Thorough understanding of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and also collaborate within a team
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and ensure adherence to deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional MS Office and Accounting software skills

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Accounting Designation is not necessary but considered an asset
  • Oracle Netsuite experience considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the accuracy of the financial books and records for the Company
  • Coordinating with other members of the accounting department to compile, analyze, and report on financial data
  • Working with each retail location for daily deposit reconciliations and following up on cash discrepancies
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • Preparation/posting of adjusting journal entries
  • Monthly end closing procedures including reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Preparation of all government returns and remittances, such as HST, in accordance with applicable legislation and filing deadlines
  • Preparation of monthly draft financial statements for review by the leadership team
  • Maintain property, plant and equipment listing
  • Assist in preparation of working papers for annual audits and tax returns
  • Ability to complete special projects/assignments on an as needed basis
