About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting and optimizing core accounting functions. Reporting to the Controller, this role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening internal controls, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. The Plant Company (TPC) is a fast-growing, innovative horticultural business operating in a newly expanded 10-acre facility. With the completion of Phase 2, we’ve added a state-of-the-art greenhouse and production barn—both purpose-built for the controlled-environment, sustainable production of premium tropical foliage. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience with A/P, A/R, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and general ledger management
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the refinement and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support alignment of accounting practices with organizational goals and regulatory standards
  • Maintain compliance checklists and standard operating procedures
  • Perform daily accounting activities including coding invoices, reconciling accounts, and supporting the monthly close process
  • Support Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Oversee payables and receivables, processing payments and collections per established procedures.
  • Oversee daily cash flow management, including bill payments, ACH processing, and bank monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with operational tax and regulatory requirements (e.g., sales tax, business licenses).
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within accounting workflows
  • Assist with system enhancements and special projects as assigned
