About The Position

The Senior Accountant role involves owning complex general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed account analyses. This position supports month-end and year-end close processes, ensures accurate application of accounting policies and internal controls, and assists with payroll, billing, and accounts receivable processes. The role also includes maintaining fixed asset accounting, accruals, and other key balance sheet accounts, as well as supporting payroll budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant will prepare audit schedules, respond to audit requests, identify and resolve accounting issues, and recommend solutions. Additionally, this role will identify and implement accounting system enhancements and process improvements, serving as a technical accounting resource for the Internal Accounting team. Experience with AI-enabled tools for financial responsibilities is also a requirement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an internal accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
  • Experience supporting financial reporting and audit processes.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Experience using or adapting to AI-enabled tools and technologies to support standard financial responsibilities, streamline processes, and improve accuracy in accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed account analyses.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes in coordination with the Controller.
  • Ensure accurate application of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support payroll, billing, and accounts receivable processes through review, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain and review fixed asset accounting, accruals, and other key balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist the Director with payroll budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests.
  • Identify accounting issues, assess risk, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Identify and Implement accounting-related system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource for Internal Accounting team members.
  • Support and finish new projects as needed.
  • Experience using or adapting to AI-enabled tools and technologies to support standard financial responsibilities, streamline processes, and improve accuracy in accounting.
