We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller on a fixed term contract basis reporting directly to the Senior Analyst to join the Technip Energies finance and accounting team based in Claremont, CA. This role will support the Senior Financial Controller and partner closely with local operations, management, and corporate finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, forecasting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and financial reporting experience, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic international business environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
  • Experience working in international and/or multi-location organizations.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and budgeting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using ERP systems; Oracle experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively across departments.

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Experience with Power BI reporting and dashboard development.
  • Knowledge of SmartView or similar financial reporting tools.
  • Experience with project accounting and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the financial controller, local management, local operational team, and answer corporate finance teams questions as needed
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting. This includes booking journal entries, booking projects revenues events and various reports needed to perform the close
  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly provisions roll forward reporting to Headquarters
  • Provide codification and review / approve expense reports and invoices for specific overhead departments.
  • Support Controller in implementing procedures, monitoring internal controls, Sarbanes Oxley, and audit requirements
  • Prepare deliverables for external and internal auditors. Assist Financial Controller as needed during discussions with the auditors
  • Assist with special projects as needed and other duties as assigned, including taxes / withholding taxes analysis, as required by corporate team
  • The candidate must be able to interact with staff from multiple departments, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be attentive to detail, rigorous, flexible, and able to handle multiple priorities and to set / meet deadlines
  • Provide codification and review / approve expense reports and invoices for specific overhead departments.
  • Prepare analysis of overhead cost centers actuals vs budget, and assist in preparing review / communication to department managers
  • Assist in the preparation of overhead budgets/project budgets and monthly forecasts with input from OC department managers
