About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant for our Accounting department. This position is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly activities related to essential accounting and reporting functions; assists in the maintenance of the G/L, month-end close and financial reporting requirements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar degree from an accredited university is preferred
  • Five to seven years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Prior work experience in closing the books/month end close
  • Strong Excel experience required (Pivot Tables and Vlookups)
  • Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written, with employees and management to ensure questions and concerns are processed in a timely manner
  • Helpful, knowledgeable and polite while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of communication mediums
  • Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Multi-task along with attention to detail
  • Must be able to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with Standard Operating Procedures & Policies
  • Prepares and maintains accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies
  • Performs assigned duties in connection with month-end close process
  • Collaboration with various teams to ensure proper information is received for coding invoices
  • Performs data entry input in connection with preparation of reports
  • Prepares weekly payroll entries
  • Responsible for Prepaid Schedules
  • Prepares Allocations and Accruals
  • Prepares and enters journal entries
  • Prepares General Ledger account reconciliations to explain variances from prior periods and/or budget
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Responds to inquiries from internal and external parties
  • Performs other duties as assigned
