About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a Senior Accountant. This position will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice To Haves

• CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred.
• Experience in the construction, engineering, or other project-based industries is a plus.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries.
• Manage accounting for prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and depreciation.
• Prepare account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of general ledger balances.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate budget-to-actual fluctuations.
• Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Assist with audit requests and continuous process improvement initiatives.
