About The Position

The Senior Accountant provides support to the Assistant Controller in managing various accounting, reporting and audit support functions. This position is Exempt, Regular Full-time and reports to the Assistant Controller. The Senior Accountant's purpose is to support the Assistant Controller in managing various accounting, reporting and audit support functions.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting
• 2-3 years of experience in public or private accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

• CPA a plus.
• Workday a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for transactions ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations including but not limited to students’ revenue, auxiliary revenue, operating expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payables, and reserves.
• Prepare weekly and monthly revenue reporting and reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly cash and payments reconciliations.
• Assist with schedules and journal entries for grant accounting, reporting and reimbursements.
• Assist Assistant Controller with external audits to gather documentation, respond to requests, and verify accuracy of supporting records.
• Work on projects and respond to requests from other Finance and non-Finance groups on campus.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.
