About The Position

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. Your responsibilities will include managing portions of the month end close, account reconciliations, financial analysis, budgeting, and implementing accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in accounting and finance roles.
  • In depth understanding of relevant accounting standards, regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient in preparing and analyzing financial statements utilizing financial software and tools.
  • Stay updated on changes in internal and external industry, state, and federal regulations.
  • Proficient in financial software and accounting systems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and modeling.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of integrity in financial reporting and practices.
  • Understanding of the organization’s goals and ability to align financial activities with broader objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Generate financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial statements to regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare documentation for tax planning.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budgetary performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather relevant budget information.
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Record additions and disposals of fixed assets.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate and assist with external audits.
  • Respond to audit inquiries and implement audit recommendations.
  • Prepare documentation for annual financial audits and workers’ compensation audits.
  • Renewal of business licenses and vehicle registrations
  • Manage and submit sales tax filings
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
  • Collaborate with other departments to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the finance function.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient financial operations.
  • Participate in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial goals and operational activities.
  • Ad hoc reports and projects as needed.
