Want to join our team? We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant! This is a Full Time and Permanent Position Position Summary Trico Residential Inc. is currently looking for an experienced Accountant with strong financial reporting, and full cycle accounting experiences. The Senior Accountant will be reporting to the VP Finance, working together closely to perform the accounting function for our single family division, and support the operations in a fast-paced, fluid environment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience at an intermediate or senior accountant level, public accounting firm experience is considered an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written;
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and organizational skills;
  • Proactive and accountable, with the ability to work independently;
  • Strong project management skills to produce quality work within tight timelines;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite;

Nice To Haves

  • Recently completed professional accounting designation, or enrolled CPA program in advance level is preferrable;
  • Previous experience in the home building, property management, or senior living industry would be considered an asset;
  • Previous experience in the property management or senior living industry is also preferred;
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Yardi ERP systems would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Full cycle accounting including identifying transactions, record and post identified transactions, reviewing trial balance and prepare reconciliations, record and post adjusting journal entries as required, preparation of financial statements for responsible division;
  • Monthly transactions generally include but are not limited to, cash entries, prepaid expenses, amortization, calculation and posting of revenue, cost of sales, and other related accruals;
  • Complete month-end reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, including cash, customer deposit, work in progress, revenue, expenses, capital asset schedules and amortization, prepaids, and intercompany accounts;
  • Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews supporting the VP Finance;
  • Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for complex financial and accounting issues;
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization’s book of account;
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all identified transactions and required journal entries;
  • Ensure timely processing of transactions and observe deadlines;
  • Carryout required responsibilities with minimum supervision;
  • Other ad-hoc projects or duties as assigned.
