About The Position

WaterBridge / Landbridge is currently hiring for a Senior Accountant here in our Houston, TX office. The Senior Accountant will support LandBridge revenue accounting activities as part of the monthly close process for its operations within the Delaware Basin. This position will report to the Operations Controller and be responsible for revenue accounting, capital expenditure (capex) component accounting, overhead cost analysis, and ad hoc project work as needed. The Senior Accountant must have strong analytical skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, AP, Corporate Accounting, and Treasury to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, revenue accounting, or capital accounting is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Workday is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to gather and analyze information.
  • Resolve problems in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record revenue accounting entries as part of the monthly close process.
  • Reconcile revenue accounts and research and resolve variances in a timely manner.
  • Track and account for capital expenditure (capex) components, ensuring proper classification and capitalization.
  • Reconcile capex sub-ledgers to the general ledger and support fixed asset reporting.
  • Perform overhead cost analysis, including cost allocation and variance review.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting schedules related to revenue, capex, and overhead.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and balance sheet schedules as part of the close process.
  • Contributing to team tasks by preparing ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Performing other accounting/administrative duties as assigned.
  • Maintaining alignment with internal controls and process standards.
  • Driving process improvement related to recurring duties and ad hoc projects on a continuous basis.
  • Meet monthly deadlines related to the internal accounting close calendar.
  • Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
