About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for working closely with the Finance team to ensure a smooth, timely month-end close process. This individual provides assistance with SOX compliance and is involved in the annual budgeting process. The Boston-area facility is Catalent’s global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging, with potent filling capacity for up to 100 million capsules annually.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
Minimum four years of experience and with solid understanding of GAAP, required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in MS Office Suite, and experience with general ledger systems

Experience in public accounting, preferred

Responsibilities

Performs and assists with month-end and quarter-end closing accounting tasks including preparation/input of journal entries ensuring compliance with US GAAP
Ensures that reconciliations and supporting schedules and analysis are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly closing schedule
Prepares and maintains month-end closing shared folders
Preparation and assistance with month-end analytical review of actuals versus budget/forecast
Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Provides assistance with SOX compliance by ensuring internal controls are adhered to
Provides assistance to Sr. Manager Financial Operations and Accounting on quarter-end inventory close and various analyses
Other duties as assigned
