Senior Accountant

ReformationVernon, CA
$90,000 - $110,000Hybrid

About The Position

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close, financial reporting, audit support, and continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls. This is a hands-on role for a high-performing accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, and is motivated to make impact. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious and proactive—you dig into data and transactions, identify root causes, and bring forward solutions rather than simply identifying problems. You will own key accounting areas, partner cross-functionally to resolve issues, and work directly with external auditors to prepare and present audit-ready workpapers and analyses.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth, public-company, or public-company-ready environment.
  • Experience in consumer products or ecommerce, especially apparel and accessories, required
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Hands-on NetSuite experience required.
  • Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated experience manipulating, reconciling, and analyzing large data sets.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally to resolve accounting and operational issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain accounting matters to both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
  • BS/BA degree in Finance/Accounting

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, including Google Drive, Google Sheets, Gmail, and Google Calendar, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience owning multiple areas of the month-end close.
  • CPA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, roll-forwards, flux analyses, and supporting schedules.
  • Own key accounting areas, including revenue, lease accounting, accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, and PP&E/fixed assets.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and audit-ready workpapers and work directly with external auditors to present analyses, explain conclusions, and resolve requests.
  • Independently investigate discrepancies and unusual activity, identify root causes, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Proactively identify accounting, process, control, and data issues.
  • Use NetSuite independently to research transactions, run and download reports and saved searches, trace general ledger activity, and analyze transaction-level data.
  • Analyze financial results and large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, reconciling items, and significant period-over-period fluctuations.
  • Partner cross-functionally to understand business activity, obtain necessary information, resolve accounting matters, and drive open items to completion.
  • Apply U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies, researching accounting guidance when the appropriate treatment is not immediately clear.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the speed, accuracy, scalability, and controls of the close and other accounting processes.
